On 24th September 2014 St James Church of England Primary Academy had its Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools. SIAMS inspection focuses on the effect that the Christian ethos of the church school has on the children and young people who attend it.
We are pleased to announce that we achieved GOOD in all areas of the inspection.
“St James' Academy has made remarkable progress since it's last inspection. The progress has been rapid and sustained. The Christian Ethos now underpins the work of the school, affirming the accelerated progress in academic achievement."
“The school successfully promotes good personal self-esteem which in turn results in pupils' positive attitude towards their work."
“The Christian vision of the school has a good impact on the well-being of the school community.”
All Church of England dioceses and the Methodist Church use the National Society’s framework for the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) under Section 48 of the Education Act 2005. The framework sets out the expectations for the conduct of the Statutory Inspection of Anglican, Methodist and ecumenical Schools under Section 48 of the Education Act 2005.
The framework provides a process for evaluating the extent to which church schools are “distinctively and recognisably Christian institutions”.
