WELCOME TO YEAR 3

We are excited to share what we are learning in Term 3 and Term 4. Check back regularly for updates, photos, and important information.

English

In Term 3 we will be reading ‘The Lost Thing’ and writing a recount of the story alongside creating a persuasive advertisement. In Term 4 we will be exploring ‘Leo and the Gorgons Curse’ creating an accurate story board and newspaper report.

Maths

We begin Term 3 developing our knowledge of multiplication and division and then moving on to learn about different measurements, metres, centimetres and millimetres and calculating perimeter.

Science

We are excited to be learning all about electricity in Science, considering different appliances and devices and learning how to create a successful electrical circuit.

Topic (History/Geography)

We will be learning about Ancient Greece, considering the geographical aspects alongside learning about who the Ancient Greeks were and their lifestyles, exploring Alexander the Great and the trojan horse.

Art/DT

We will be developing our creative skills and researching, designing and making Greek theatre masks.

PE

PE will be on a Monday and Thursday.  We will be enjoying learning multi skills and football skills.

RE

We will be exploring the Muslim faith and learning about the underpinning beliefs and values that are at the heart of this religion.

Homework

Multiplication homework will be set every Friday and is due in on Wednesday. Please continue to encourage your children to read every day.
