WELCOME TO YEAR 4

We are excited to share what we are learning in Term 3 and Term 4. Check back regularly for updates, photos, and important information.

English

This term we will be reading ‘The Lost Thing’ by Shaun Tan and writing a recount of the story as well as creating a persuasive advertisement. In Term 4 we will be exploring ‘Leo and the Gorgon’s Curse’ creating an accurate story board and newspaper report.

Maths

We will be looking at multiplication and division before moving on to fractions and decimals.

Science

This term we are looking at electricity. In Term 4 we will be exploring sound.

Topic (History/Geography)

We will be looking at the Ancient Greeks this term and finding out about daily life in those ancient times.

Art/DT

We will be focusing on the use of masks in Ancient Greek theatres and will be creating our own mask. In Term 4 we will be looking at mosaics.

PE

Will be on a Monday and Friday this term. We will be doing multi skills and tag rugby.

RE

In Term 3 we will be looking at Hinduism for RE before exploring why Christians call the day Jesus died Good Friday in Term 4.

Homework

Homework will be set every Friday and will be useful tools to aid times table revision. The following website is a really useful practice tool for the children to gain confidence ahead of the multiplication check in the summer term: www.mathsframe.co.uk
